Τελικά η λύση βρέθηκε και για τα δύο.

No resume image, doing normal boot...

edit menu.lst στο /boot/grub αλλάξτε την γραμμή

# defoptions=quiet splash
σε
# defoptions=quiet splash noresume

Τέλος εκτελούμε
sudo update-grub

Και τελειώσαμε
