Update Manager πρόβλημα με repositories [επιλύθηκε]

Όταν ανοίγω το "Update Manager" για να κατεβάσω τα updates, μου βγάζει αυτο το μήνυμα:

Failed to fetch http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/edgy/universe/binary-i386/Packages.gz  404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.88.31 80]

Λογικά έκανα τυφλή εγκατάσταση και η σελίδα που κάνει το update το πρόγραμμα αυτό δεν υπάρχει πια.
Υπάρχει τρόπος να βγάλω αυτο το πρόγραμμα απο το συστημα μου ή θα πρέπει να κάνω format?

και πόσταρε το αποτέλεσμα εδώ...

Αν παρατηρήσεις, υπάρχει η παράξενη γραμμή

deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu edgy universe

Edgy; Αυτή είναι πολύ παλιά έκδοση του Ubuntu.
Εντόπισε για ποιο λόγο μπήκε η γραμμή αυτή, και ανάλογα τη βγάζεις.

Μπορείς να τη βγάλεις εύκολα από το Synaptic, στις επιλογές με τα αποθετήρια/repositories.

Έχεις ένα repository του Edgy.
Πως βρέθηκε εκει δεν καταλαβαίνω.

Θα πρέπει να κάνεις τα εξής:

Κλείνεις όλα τα προγράμματα που χρησιμοποιείς για να εγκαθιστάς προγράμματα , όπως το synaptic.

Δίνεις σε τερματικό την εντολή:

Κώδικας: Επιλογή όλων

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Στο κειμενογράφο που θα σου ανοίξει το κείμενο με τις διευθύνσεις των repositories, θα βρείς την προβληματική η οποία είναι αυτήν :

deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu edgy universe

και θα της βάλεις μπροστά της μια # (δίεση),
Δηλαδή θα την κάνεις έτσι :

και θα πατήσεις save.
Θα κλείσεις κειμενογράφο και τερματικό και είσαι ΟΚ...

Μια βδόμαδα μου εμφάνιζε το σφάλμα αυτο και τελικά ήταν τόσο απλό
ευχαριστώ πολυ!
