Σύνδεση GPS σε Ubuntu

Προσπαθώ να συνδέσω τη συσκευή GPS (MLS DestinAtor Pro 4810) στο ubuntu για να:
1) Χρησιμοποιώ το σήμα GPS για να βρίσκω την τοποθεσία μου από το ubuntu, για αυτή τη δουλειά εγκατέστησα το FoxtrotGPS και το gpsd,
2) Να διαχειρίζομαι τον αποθηκευτικό χώρο που έχει σαν μια συσκευή αποθήκευσης USB.

Δεν έχω καταφέρει να κάνω κανένα από τα δύο. Συνδέω τη συσκευή στον υπολογιστή (με USB, bluetooth δεν έχει ούτε το GPS, ούτε το netbook), δεν ανοίγει κανένας φάκελος και δεν βλέπω πουθενά για καμιά συσκευή αποθήκευης. Δίνω την εντολή lsusb και βλέπω αυτό:

Όπου Microsoft Corp. Generic PPC Flash device είναι η συσκευή GPS, θα έπρεπε να εγκαταστήσω κανέναν driver; Πατώντας gpsd βλέπω αυτό:

Να αναφέρω επίσης πως δεν μπόρεσα να πιάσω σήμα GPS, τις δοκιμές τις έκανα μέσα στο σπίτι. Μήπως αυτό φταίει; Θα προσπαθήσω να πιάσω σήμα στο μπαλκόνι...

Δεν νομιζω οτι η συσκευη αυτη, μπορει να μοιραζει το σημα του GPS, σε αλλες ή στο PC σου... το αναφερει πουθενα στο εγχειριδιο οτι εχει τετοια λειτουργια;

Στο εγχειρίδιο δεν βρήκα κάτι, έστειλα ένα email στην mls με την σχετική ερώτηση και περιμένω απάντηση.

Τελικά είχες δίκιο στην απάντηση που μου έστειλαν είπαν πως η λειτουργία δεν υποστηρίζεται. Πως όμως μπορώ να διαχειρίζομαι τα αρχεία της συσκευής (σαν αποθηκευτική συσκευή); Αυτή η λειτουργία υποστηρίζεται.

Από ότι κατάλαβα απλά την συσκευή το λειτουργικό την βλέπει σαν USB Storage. Αυτό συμβαίνει λόγο ότι είναι σαν 2 συσκευές σε 1 μια Storage συσκευή και 1 GPS συσκευές.

Το αποτέλεσμα της εντολής dmesg, ενώ είχα συνδέσει το GPS. Το μοντέλο είναι MLS Destinator Pro 4810. Έψαξα στην ιστοσελίδα του gpsd, διάβασα ότι διαβάζει τα δεδομένα από τη συσκευή συνδεδεμένη στη ''lower-number'' θύρα USB, εγώ το δοκίμασα και στις τρεις θύρες χωρίς αποτέλεσμα.
Όλες οι ενδείξεις από όλες τις εφαρμογές για GPS που έχω εγκατεστημένες είναι μηδενισμένες (xgps, xgpsspeed...)

Αυτες οι συσκευες ηταν ενα WinCE pocket pc και συνδεοντουσαν με τον υπολογιστη μεσω Windows με το ActiveSync... για το linux υπαρχει αντιστοιχο το Synce...
