When I heard these attacks I felt sick to my stomach. How could a company that I poured my blood, sweat and tears into spread these untruths? My conscience guides me, that's why I'm before you today."
Gates then went on for fifteen minutes explaining why Linux was superior to all other computer operating systems - "especially Windows."
During the question and answer period that followed many reporters openly questioned Gates sanity and sobriety. "Have you gone mad?", "Are you drunk?", "What about Windows XP," they asked. Though it was requested several times Gates refused both a psychiatric examination and a breathalyzer test.
Scores of Linux web sites were quick to declare victory with headlines like, "Torvalds Defeats Gates!" Others were more hesitant, and suspected a Microsoft conspiracy. Open source advocate Bruce Torman said, "Microsoft is at it again! Bashing...er...praising Linux. This argument that Linux is the best OS ever is just another red herring by the Microsoft PR machine. Aw s**** it, I don't know what the hell to make of it."
In addition to praising Linux as the best operating system ever, Gates also had some critical comments of Microsoft's flagship OS. "I never really liked Windows all that much," said Gates, "All that crashing and rebooting drove me nuts. I stopped using it about 3 years ago, but it was a pretty good money maker for the company so we stuck with it."
Gates added, "Keep in mind that the opinions offered are my own personal opinions, and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Microsoft."
A Microsoft marketing representative was heard muttering, "You got that right."

According to inside sources, during a recent get together in the Gates mansion, the children secreted themselves into one of their many rooms. Gates, using his CCTV monitoring system, uncovered their use of forbidden laptops and software. Both men became irate upon discovery.
Gates looked closer and said "Is that the GNOME desktop? Blast it! Those kids installed Linux over my Windows 7 machines!" It seemed that the kids installed a copy of Ubuntu to the hard drives to run Linux instead of Windows 7.
"This is our turn to decide what we want to use. Windows is a fascist operating system and we want to be free of its tyranny!" said Anonymous Child Number One. "We have a right to use whatever technology we want!" said Anonymous Child Number Two. "If Windows 7 was designed like a Mac or Linux we would use it." said Anonymous Child Number Three.
Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer then started up the new charity "Windows Kids, Inc." to help spread the message of not using Macs or Linux, but to use Windows instead in order to brainwash er, ah, indoctrinate educate the masses of youths out there to make the right choice. "Drop that iPod, get a Zune, ditch that iPhone and get a Windows Mobile Smartphone. Be a Windows Kid(TM) and be cool, not a loser like others. Windows 7 rules, it was made for Kids like you, not Linux, and not Mac OSX, they are not Kid Friendly."
