Ενεργοποίηση Wi-Fi σε παλιό Toshiba Satellite Laptop.

Έβαλα το Ubuntu 9.04 σ' ένα παλιό Toshiba Satellite laptop (http://toshiba.pricecat.be/en/p/Toshiba/PSA50E-01D02QFR/Satellite%2520A50-493.htm#). Διάβασα διάφορα, αλλά οι πληροφορίες που βρίσκω είναι για πιο καινούργια μοντέλα και έχω ενδοιασμούς μήπως κάνω κανένα λάθος. Δε μπορώ καν αναζήτηση ασύρματων δικτύων να κάνω. Καμία βοήθεια;

Αν προσέξεις τη υπογραφή μου κι εγώ παρόμοιο laptop έχω (εντάξει, λίγο πιο παλιό )
Η κάρτα σου είναι ίδια με τη δική μου. Κανονικά δε θα έπρεπε να έχεις πρόβλημα. Υπάρχει όμως μια αναφορά στο launchpad
Launchpad bug: #366217
στην οποία υπάρχει παρόμοιο πρόβλημα με το δικό σου. Το πιθανότερο είναι πως έχουμε πρόβλημα έκδοσης.

Σε παρακαλώ δοκίμασε (όπως προτείνουν και τα παιδιά στο launchpad) να τρέξεις ένα live cd με την 8.10 ή 8.04 να δούμε αν λειτουργεί.

Το διακοπτάκι ανοιχτό το έχω. Αναζήτηση ασύρματων δικτύων από πού κάνεις; Εγώ κάνω δεξί κλικ στο εικονίδιου του δικτύου του tray, επεξεργασία συνδέσεων, ασύρματη και προσπαθώ από εκεί να κάνω κάτι.

Αν προσέξεις τη υπογραφή μου κι εγώ παρόμοιο laptop έχω (εντάξει, λίγο πιο παλιό )
Η κάρτα σου είναι ίδια με τη δική μου. Κανονικά δε θα έπρεπε να έχεις πρόβλημα. Υπάρχει όμως μια αναφορά στο launchpad
Launchpad bug: #366217
στην οποία υπάρχει παρόμοιο πρόβλημα με το δικό σου. Το πιθανότερο είναι πως έχουμε πρόβλημα έκδοσης.

Σε παρακαλώ δοκίμασε (όπως προτείνουν και τα παιδιά στο launchpad) να τρέξεις ένα live cd με την 8.10 ή 8.04 να δούμε αν λειτουργεί.

Μάλιστα. Θα το δοκιμάσω κι αυτό.
