μπλεξιμο με κατατμηση σκληρου δισκου

Καλησπερα σε ολους τους φιλους , εχω ενα μικρο μπλεξιμο στην κατατμηαη του δισκου του παλιου μου pc ΡΙΙΙ που εχω περασει xubuntu 9.10.
Επειδη ματαια προσπαθω καιρο να το δικτυωσω με αλλα pc σε τοπικο δικτυο, αποφασισα να δοκιμασω τη λυση του minimal ubuntu , αλλα εκει κολησα γιατι φαινεται εχω κανει λαθος στα partitions του σκληρου (μολις 10GB !! ). Ετσι φαινεται οτι εκτος απο το 1ο primary εχω δημιουργησει ενα 2ο extended που εχει χωριστει σε logical και swap κατατμησεις .Παραθετω τις εντολες γαι να γινει κατανοητο :

Γραφικα μπορω να δω μονο το sda1 (με το Thynar) Tα αλλα partitions μονο αν τα κανω mounted καπου (πχ στο /media)
Αυτη τη στιγμη εκκινηση γινεται βασει του menu.lst που υπαρχει στο sda6 μονο απο Xubuntu. Οσο και αν προσπαθησα δεν μπορει να χρησιμοποιησει τα αλλα kernels στο μενου ωστε να εκκινησω το Ubuntu minimal. Επισης , αν αυτο λεει κατι, στο μενου εκκινησης υπαρχει εντολη

root (hd0,5)

αν ορισω αλλο root δεν εκκινει.
Αυτο που θελω ειναι να απλοποιηθει λιγο το πραγμα σε 1 η 2 το πολυ κατατμησεις και πως θα μπορεσω να εξαλειψω την logical ? ευχαριστω.

Με βαση αυτα που λες, δηλαδη να εχεις Ubuntu και Xubuntu, θα επρεπε να ειχες τα partition
Τρια πρωτεύοντα partition
α) / Ubuntu
β) /home
γ) / Xubuntu
και λογικα partition
δ) linux-swap
ε) υπολοιπος χωρος για αρχεια,backup,κλπ.

Τωρα επειδη δεν καταλαβα, μπορεις να μπεις μονο απο το Xubuntu, και δεν μπορεις απο το Ubuntu,
ή το αντιστροφο?
και ποιες εκδοσεις, ubuntu,xubuntu εχεις εγκατεστημενες!

Αυτο ειναι το μπλεξιμο , δεν μπορω να καταλαβω πως δημιουργησα 2ο partition που ειναι extended .
Μπαινω με xubuntu και δεν μπορω με ubuntu .Eπισης δεν μπορω να αποκτησω προσβαση στο extended sda2 - ολες οι κατατμησεις ειναι logical του sda2. Εγιναν καθως προσπαθησα να κανω partition για εγκατασταση του ubuntu minimal.
Εχω xubuntu 9.10 και ubuntu minimal 9.10 (τουλαχιστο προσπαθησα να εγκαταστησω αλλα δεν ανοιξε)
Στο menu.lst που βρισκω στο 1ο partition (sda1) φαινεται το kernel της εγκαταστασης ubuntu.
Αλλα για να εκκινησω χρησιμοποιει το menu.lst που βρισκεται στο sda6 (logical μεσα στο sda2).

Έχω κι εγώ κάποια θέματα μετά από partition που έκανα στο 500ρι σκληρό μου
(τον χώρισα σε 2 μέρη ένα των 20Gb (λειτουργικο) και τα υπόλοιπα τα έβαλα για αποθήκη ταινίες , έγγραφα κλπ
1. αναγνωρίζει τα 477 gb σαν extrenal disk πια με unmount permission !!!
2.δεν μπορώ να μετανομάσω τον δίσκο σε κάτι άλλο εκτός sda3
3.αν διαγράψω κατά λάθος κάτι δεν μπορώ να το ανακτήσω γιατί λέει δεν μου έχει κάδο απορριμάτων {το ίδιο κι σε εξωτερικό σκληρό}
