Βοήθεια με ups installation

Καλησπέρα παιδιά, έχω πάρει ένα UPS από το πλαίσιο το TURBO-X και αποφάσισα να εγκαταστήσω το προγραμματάκι που περιλαμβάνει η συσκευασία και στο Kubuntu μου, αλλά χρειάζομαι λίγο τη βοήθειά σας. Παραθέτω τις οδηγίες εγκατάστασης:

1.4 SIMPLE INSTALLATION

* Hardware Installation
1.Connect the DB-9 male connector of the cable to the UPS
interface. (A DB-9 female connector of RS232 protocol type.).
2.Connect the female connector of DB-9 cable to the dedicated
RS232 serial port (If there is only a DB-25 connector on your
computer, uses a DB-9 to DB-25 converter).
* Software Installation
1.Log in as the super-user.
2.Use the 'ftp' utility in MS-DOS to copy files into the system
directory '/tmp'.
3.Follow the instructions below to make the filename conversion
after the 'ftp' file transfer:
# cd /tmp
# mv linux.z linux.Z
or # mv LINUX.Z linux.Z
# chmod 755 install
4.Execute the installation program:
# ./install
5.Select the target system from the menu, and configuration
the UPSilon for UNIX(make sure no other process uses the
same serial port), the installation program will launch the
UPSilon for UNIX daemon process automatically.
Note:If there is no network connection in your system, please
let your dealer know what kind of media you could use to
copy files into your system.
* How to give command
1.Start the UPSilon for UNIX daemon process
/etc/upsilon/upsilon start
2.Stop the UPSilon for UNIX daemon process
/etc/upsilon/upsilon stop
3.Configure the parameters:
/etc/upsilon/upsilon config
4.Event Notice by Pager
/etc/upsilon/upsilon.pgr
5.Event Notice by Email
/etc/upsilon/upsilon.eml
6.Monitor the UPS status:
/etc/upsilon/upsilon status
7.Send Commands Directly to the UPS
/etc/upsilon/upsilon issuer
8.Read Online Documentation
/etc/upsilon/upsilon help
9.History Information
/etc/upsilon/rupslog

Το πρόβλημά μου είναι στην αρχή στο βήμα 2 της εγκατάστασης λογισμικού που λέει για αντιγραφή του αρχείου με ftp. Μηπως γνωρίζετε τι πρέπει να κάνω?

σε ευχαριστώ φίλε για τη βοήθειά σου. Εγκατέστησα το Ups καθώς όατν πατάω τις εντολές εκκίνησης και τερματισμού, οι απαντήσεις που παίρνω είναι σωστής λειτουργίας. Το θέμα όμως τώρα είναι ότι δεν εμφανίζετε κάτι, και προβλιματίζομαι καθώς όταν πατάω τις υπόλοιπες εντολές που είναι για άνοιγμα βοήθειας, για άνοιγμα monitor μου βγάζει αυτό:
Error opening terminal: xterm.

Εγκατέστησα το xterm αλλά και πάλι παίρνω την ίδια απάντηση

Εκτέλεσε την εντολή:

και

ls -l /etc/upsilon/

και πόσταρε το αποτέλεσμα τους.

Πως εκτελείς τις εντολές?

Εκτελείς για παράδειγμα:

και παίρνεις αυτό το σφάλμα?

στο 3ο που μου λες πράγματι καλά κατάλαβες. Όταν δίνω πχ /etc/upsilon/upsilon help βγαίνει το λάθος. Οι μόνες εντολές που λειτουργούν είναι το stop και το start.
Tώρα όσο αφορά το 1ο μάλλον δε μπορώ να postάρω τι βγάζει καθώς θέλουμε 3 σελίδες και τα μισά ειναι σύμβολα...

Εάν μπορείς να βρεις στο CD κάποιο αρχείο Readme or Install file μπορείς να το ανεβάσεις κάπου και να το δω και μετά θα μπορέσω να σου πω πως να το κάνεις

Το help που μου ζητας να σου εμφανίσω είναι φάκελος με 25 περίπου αρχεία μεσα...

Θα πρέπει να υπάρχει ένα αρχείο του ups μετά από το install στο /etc/init.d/ εάν όχι τότε θα πρέπει να το φτιάξεις εσύ εάν που να κάνει το start και μετά να εκτελέσεις μία εντολή

sudo update-rc.d -f file-name.sh start 99 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 . ( δες εάν το install κάνει και εάν βάζει αρχείο εκεί )

linuxman δεν υπάρχει κάποιο τέτοιο αρχείο μετά το install. Τι πρέπει να κάνω?
