Πραγματι αποσυμπιεσα το αρχειο patch.
Μπορειτε να το κατεβασετε και απο εδω:

Οι οδηγιες που ακολουθησα τοτε με επιτυχια για το Ubuntu 10.10 (με kernel 2.6.35-χχ) ηταν αυτες:

Δεν μπορω να το εφαρμοσω τωρα για το 2.6.38-8 στο Ubuntu 11.04.
Οταν λες να ανοιξω το αρχειο dkms.conf πώς το ανοιγεις;
Πηγα να το ανοιξω και μου ειπε οτι δεν υπαρχει εγκατεστημενη εφαρμογη για να το ανοιξει.
Εσυ μπορεις να το ανοιξεις;

Ευχαριστω.
Αλλαξα τον τιτλο του kernel στο αρχειο dkms.conf, από 2.6.35-22 σε 2.6.38-8.
Αφου μετονομασα και τον φακελο psmouse-2.6.35-22-generic σε psmouse-2.6.38-8-generic, τον αποσυμπιεσα και τον αντεγραψα στο usr/src.
Ακολουθωντας τις οδηγιες ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... omments/61 ), εδωσα στο τερματικο
Κώδικας: Επιλογή όλων
sudo dkms add -m psmouse -v 2.6.38-8-generic
και εβγαλε:
Κώδικας: Επιλογή όλων
Creating symlink /var/lib/dkms/psmouse/2.6.38-8-generic/source ->
/usr/src/psmouse-2.6.38-8-generic

DKMS: add Completed.
Μετα εδωσα

Μιας και έχω το ίδιο (σχεδόν) σύστημα και προσπαθώ να εγκαταστήσω το Ubuntu 11.04 συνεχίζω στο συγκεκριμένο νήμα. Καταρχάς προσπάθησα να κάνω την εγκατάσταση από flash. Το live λειτουργεί μια χαρά το ίδιο και η έναρξη της εγκατάστασης. Το πρόβλημα ξεκινάει από την στιγμή που κάνω partition για το Linux. Από την αγορά του το Laptop έχει 4 partition ένα για το σύστημα ένα για RECOVERY και ένα για τα HP_TOOLS. Επειδή θέλω το σύστημά μου να είναι Dual Boot δεν θέλω να σβήσω κανένα partition από τα υπάρχον. Σε διάφορα φόρουμς, βρήκα ότι το σύστημα δεν επιτρέπει πάνω από 4 priamry partitions. Ξέχασα να σας αναφέρω ότι αυτό σημαίνει ότι κάνω ένα partition περίπου στα 30gb ελεύθερο χώρο, αλλά είναι unusable και από την διαδικασία της εγκατάστασης και από το Live και το πρόγραμμα Gparted. Καμία ιδέα :( ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Από τα 4 partitions περιγράφεις 2. Υποθέτω το 3ο είναι τα windows. Και το 4ο;
Αν το 4ο είναι αρχεία, κάνε ένα backup, διέγραψέ το και φτιάξε στην θέση του ένα extended partition με όσα logical partitions χρειάζεσαι μέσα.
Αν το 4ο είναι τα αρχικά 100κάτι ΜΒ των windows 7, τότε το μόνο που θα μπορούσες να προσπαθήσεις είναι η συγχώνευση RECOVERY και HP_TOOLS σε ένα για να δικαιούσαι την δημιουργία ενός ακόμα.(Δέν ξέρω πως γίνεται, και μάλλον θα πρέπει να γίνει από τα windows)

Μπορείς να κανεις πάνω από 4 partition, το 4ο θα το κάνεις extended και μεσα σε αυτό μπορείς να ορίσεις όσα logical partitions θελεις.

έχεις ήδη 4 partitions. Θα πρέπει να σβήσεις ένα, να κάνεις στον κενό χώρο που θα μείνει ένα etxended και μετά μέσα σε αυτό κάνεις όσα θές

Μα η HP, έχει φροντίσει να μπλοκάρει τον δίσκο σου με 4 πρωτεύουσες κατατμήσεις...
Πρέπει να στείλεις κάποια από αυτές. Έτσι όπως το βλέπω, φρόντισε να πληροφορηθείς τι είναι αυτά τα HP_RECOVERY, HP_TOOLS, πάρε αντίγραφα αν κρίνεις ότι μπορεί να σου φανούν χρήσιμα στο μέλλον και στείλτα. Θα αφήσεις τον χώρο αδιάθετο. Θα έχεις έτσι 45 gb για να δημιουργήσεις ένα εκτεταμένο διαμέρισμα όπου το ubuntu θα δημιουργήσει αυτόματα τις απαραίτητες κατατμήσεις κατά την εγκατάσταση.

Αφού ελευθερώσεις τον χώρο και τον αφήσεις αδιάθετο (unallocated), εκκίνησε με το live CD και το πρόγραμμα εγκατάστασης θα τα κάνει όλα αυτόματα...

Καταρχάς ευχαριστώ για τις απαντήσεις, αλλά μάλλον καταλήξαμε στην ερώτησή μου. Ότι δεν μπορώ να κάνω χώρο για το Linux το κατάλαβα και το διάβασα, το θέμα είναι μπορώ να αποφύγω το φορματ, έστω και στο ελάχιστο ή είμαι αναγκασμένος να σβήσω ένα από τις κατατμήσεις μου. Άλλη μια πληροφορία είναι ότι προσπάθησα να εγκαταστήσω με το wubi αλλά κολλάει όταν κάνω επανεκκίνηση τον υπολογιστή, εμφανίζει το desktop Και μετά κολλάει, όποια εγκατάσταση και να κάνω από τις προτεινόμενες.
