Δεν μπορώ να κάνω εγκατάσταση, Ubuntu Server 14.04

Γεια και χαρά.

Έχω εγκαταστήσει σε ένα (Σχετικά) παλιό laptop, Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS. Ενώ κατά την εγκατάσταση όλα φάνηκαν να είναι καλά, χωρίς κανένα πρόβλημα, στη συνέχεια, όταν μπήκα πλέον στο σύστημα, διαπίστωσα ότι δεν μπορώ να εγκαταστήσω τίποτα. Ενδεικτικά παραθέτω το παρακάτω

sudo apt-get install lighttpd
Ανάγνωση Λιστών Πακέτων... Ολοκληρώθηκε
Κατασκευή Δένδρου Εξαρτήσεων
Ανάγνωση περιγραφής της τρέχουσας κατάσταση... Ολοκληρώθηκε
E: Αδυναμία εντοπισμού του πακέτου lighttpd

Επίσης, παραθέτω και τα αποτελέσματα από την εντολή ifconfig μήπως και έχει καμιά σχέση

Τα αποτελέσματα από εντολές τερματικού τα βάζουμε μέσα σε [cοde]αποτελέσματα[/cοde]. Επιλέγουμε το κείμενο και πατάμε το κουμπάκι . Δες εδώ πως.

Καλώς ήρθες στο forum.

Μοιάζει περισσότερο με πρόβλημα πηγών λογισμικού παρά με ρυθμίσεις της κάρτας δικτύου ή σύνδεσης στο διαδίκτυο.
Έχεις κάνει ενημέρωση των πηγών;
Δώσε και το αποτέλεσμα από τις εντολές:

Τα αποτελέσματα από εντολές τερματικού τα βάζουμε μέσα σε [cοde]αποτελέσματα[/cοde]. Επιλέγουμε το κείμενο και πατάμε το κουμπάκι . Δες εδώ πως.

με το update γενικά πάει μέχρι το 50% μάλλον καλά, από κει και πέρα χαλάει το πράγμα και καταλήγει κάπως έτσι

Απ ότι έχω διαπιστώσει, μάλλον σύνδεση υπάρχει.. Σύμφωνα και με το παρακάτω δηλαδή

Τις πρώτες μέρες υπάρχει φόρτος στους servers με τα αποθετήρια, μπορεί να έπεσες σε αυτή την περίπτωση. Ξαναδοκίμασε σε λίγες ώρες.

Μάλιστα. Από εχθές έχω αυτό το πρόβλημα. Θα συνεχίσω να δοκιμάζω που και που και αν πράγματι γίνει κάτι, από μόνο του, θα ενημερώσω.

Προσπαθώντας να εγκαταστήσω πακέτα για το Ubuntu Server 16.04.1 LTS (Xenial) είχα το ίδιο πρόβλημα.
Άλλαξα τα sources από το regional αποθετήριο στο main http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu και έπαιξε.
Όποιος άλλαξε τον server όπως ανέφερε, βρήκε μήπως κάτι άλλο ώστε να μην επιβαρύνουμε το main repository;
