Το Nexus 7 είναι ένα tablet που έχει κυκλοφορήσει η Google . Έχει κατασκευαστεί από την Asus και "φοράει" τον επεξεργαστή 4πύρηνο NVIDIA® Tegra® 3 με . Τώρα έχει κυκλοφορήσει και σε 32BG έκδοση. Φυσικά και περιέχει λειτουργικό Android.
Το Ubuntu όμως έχει "στοχοποιήσει" το συγκεκριμένο tablet και έχει βαλθεί να τρέξει τον πυρήνα του εκεί. Οι προγραμματιστές του Ubuntu καλούν όσους έχουν το συγκεκριμένο tablet να ακολουθήσουν την διαδικασία εγκατάστασης του Ubuntu που περιγράφεται στο Wiki => https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Nexus7 .
Δυστυχώς η συσκευή δεν είναι ακόμη διαθέσιμη στην Ελλάδα (επίσημα τουλάχιστον) , ελπίζουμε σύντομα.
Η τιμή της αυτή τη στιγμή κυμαίνεται περίπου στα 300 δολάρια και η νέα έκδοση όπως είπαμε είναι αυτή των 32BG. Μετά από ένα μήνυμα - κάλεσμα για testing στο Google+ οι προγραμματιστές μάλλον έχουν βάλει μπρος τα σχέδια για επέκταση του Ubuntu ειδικά στα tablets.
Άντε να δούμε σύντομα και επίσημο Ubuntu Tablet από την Canonical.

We want to encourage as many of you to test Ubuntu on the Nexus 7, report bugs, and get involved in making Ubuntu rock on it.
