Η ομάδα του Unity τελικά , το έχει πάρει "ζεστά" το θέμα απ' ότι φαίνεται. Δεν προλαβαίνουμε να "μετράμε" νέες εκδόσεις.

Σε 12.04 είναι έτοιμο· για 11.10 πρέπει να βρεις κάποιο PPA ή να μεταγλωττίσεις ο ίδιος.

Σε εμένα μένει στην έκδοση 5.8 όποιον εξυπηρετητή και αν βάλω.
Kρασάρει συνεχώς ότι έχει σχέση με compiz (unity, classic-gnome με εφέ) και το unity 2d δεν κάνει αναζήτηση με το dash (μόλις πατήσω κάτι πάνω του κλείνει, είναι σαν να κανω κλικ στην επιφάνεια εργασίας).
Ξανάκανα εγκατάσταση την 12.04 σε άλλο σκληρό αλλά έχω ακριβώς τα ίδια.(όχι από την αρχή αλλά μετά τις τελευταίες ενημερώσεις)
Αν δεν παρουσιάζεται σε άλλον το κρασάρισμα μάλλον θα έχει να κάνει με τους οδηγούς της κάρτας γραφικών μου, που είναι οι προτεινόμενοι beta catalyst 12.4 ειδικά για το 12.04 (όποια προηγούμενη έκδοση και αν βάλω δεν παίζει κανένα βίντεο)

Για τις κάρτες γραφικών που βλέπω στην υπογραφή σου, πιστεύω ότι ο ανοιχτός οδηγός λειτουργεί μια χαρά.
Και εγώ αντιμετώπισα προβλήματα σε έναν υπολογιστή με κάρτα γραφικών ATI με το κλειστό οδηγό, με κολλήματα όλου του συστήματος. Για να είμαι σίγουρος, απεγκατέστησα ό,τι πακέτο είχε σχέση με fgrlx από το Ubuntu μου. Και μιλάμε για ATI HD6300.

Μην πει κάποιος για τους ανοικτούς, έχω ήδη αναφέρει σε αυτό το post ότι η 12.04 είναι μέχρι στιγμής η χειρότερη διανομή στο hardware μου σε ότι αφορά την θερμοκρασία (60 βαθμούς χειμωνιάτικα,πάνω σε βάση ψύξης και όλα αυτά σε idle κατάσταση )

BIOS και ACPI. Δες στο https://forum.ubuntu-gr.org/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=22271 για το πως μπορείς να διαπιστώσεις τι πραγματικά συμβαίνει.
