Είμαι καινούργιος σχετικά στο Linux. Το έβαλα στο laptop μου και ενώ στην αρχή με την έκδοση 7.Χ είχα ασύρματο δίκτυο μετά την αναβάθμιση σε 8.04 έχασα το δίκτυο. Η κάρτα μου είναι PCMCIA της LEVEL ONE. To ubuntu την βλέπει με τον σωστό οδηγό αλλά σαν PCI. Δοκιμάσα να βάλω το αρχειο inf του οδηγου για windows αλλά όταν βαζω το inf για καρτα PCI το δεχεται, ενω όταν βαζωτο inf της κάρτας PCMCIA λέει ότι δεν υπάρχει τετοιο υλικο στο μηχανημα. Έκανα εγκατασταση από την αρχή μηπως και την δει ....ματαια....τα ίδια. Θα το εκτιμούσα αν μπορούσατε να με καθοδηγησετε τι πρεπει να κανω.

οπότε εγω θα σου πρότεινα για να μην αρχισεις τα πειράγματα κι αν δεν σου ειναι πολύ απαραίτητο το ασύρματο να περιμενεις την αναβάθμιση σε Ubuntu 8.10 σε εναν μήνα ή αν θες να ρισκαρεις μπορεις να κανεις την αναβάθμιση και πρόωρα.

Υποσημείωση: τα αρχεια inf ξεχνα τα, ό,τι λυση βρεις με αυτά δεν ειναι καλη.

Γειά σας,

Μολις ξεμπέρδεψα με ενα προβλημα που ειχα σε Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid και το chipset για wireless RT2561 RT61. Νομίζω οτι έπεσα σε conflict του rt61pci module και του nvidia proprietary driver 96 .

Η ιστορια...
Κανω εγκατασταση το ubuntu 8.10 και περιεργως (διοτι στο livecd δεν δουλεψε) το wireless δούλεψε με την πρώτη. Κατεβάζω όλα τα updates και κανω εγκατασταση και το envyng-core για τα γραφικά. Μεσα στα updates ήταν και kernel.
Εγκαθιστώ και τους nvidia drivers με το envyng και απο τοτε , δεν είχα wireless.

Πρώτη κινηση, να ρωτήσω τον παντογνώστη γούγλη... βρήκα την λύση του legacy driver rt61 , αλλα αναρωτήθηκα, γιατι να το κανω αυτο, ενω πριν δουλεψε με την πρώτη . (τι βελτιωση ηταν απο τον 2.6.27-7 στον 2.6.26-11;;;) Παρατηρησε μετα απο λιγες ώρες σε ενα ποστ, οτι η εκδοση του rt61pci που ειχε ενας, ηταν η 10, και εγώ ειχα την 8 ( modinfo rt61pci ). Για να μην πολυλογω... μετα απο πολλες ώρες, βαρέθηκα να το ψάχνω και αρχισα να ψάχνω για το πώς θα κανω να φαινονται οι γραμματοσειρες στο wine. Ετσι και απενεργοποιώ τους drivers και το compiz.Κανω επανεκκινηση και να σου παλι συνδεδεμενος με wireless...

Μήπως ειναι conflict του rt61pci με το nvidia proprietary driver 96 ;;;;;

Τεσπα, εγω την δουλεια μου την κάνω. Απλα για να μην παιδευτει κανεις αλλος, ενιωσα την αναγκη να το γράψω κάπου .
