Δεν με κατάλαβες, δεν αναφέρομαι στον πυρήνα, αλλά στην εγκατάσταση του ubuntu.

Τον έβαλα χειροκίνητα...
Κατεβάζεις τον πυρήνα απο τη σελίδα του.
Το αρχείο είναι γύρω στα 80mb, το κάνεις αποσυμπίεση , ανοίγεις το τερματικό σου και γράφεις sudo dpkg -i και μετά το i επιλέγεις τα αρχεία που είναι για το σύστημά σου και σέρνοντας τα, τα "πετάς" στο τερματικό ώστε να δείχνει κάπως έτσι:linux-headers-xxx-optimus-all.deb, linux-headers-xxx-optimus_i386.deb, linux-image-xxxx-optimus_i386.deb και απλά πατάς enter και περιμένεις..
Κάνεις μια επανεκίνηση του συστήματος και είσαι έτοιμος!

Η ερώτηση δεν αφορά τον πυρήνα Optimus, αλλά την εγκατάσταση του Ubuntu.
Συγκεκριμένα, η ερώτηση είναι αν η εγκατάσταση του Ubuntu έγινε μέσα από τα windows εκτελώντας το εκτελέσιμο .exe αρχείο που υπάρχει μέσα στο CD, ή αν έγινε σε ξεχωριστό διαμέρισμα αφού έγινε εκκίνηση με το CD του Ubuntu.

Την καθυστέρηση που την παρατηρείς ; από το boot στην login screen ή από την login screen στην επιφάνεια εργασίας ;
Το μόνο που βλέπω να συμβάλει στην καθυστέρηση του boot , είναι το UFW (firewall) . Δεν είμαι και σίγουρος όμως.
Το αποτέλεσμα του .xsession-errors φαίνεται "καθαρό" .

Και γιατί καθυστερήσεις μιλάμε ; Έχεις μετρήσει χρόνους ;

Σε ότι αφορά τον ήχο αυτό μάλλον είναι άλλο θέμα.. ίσως βέβαια έχει σχέση με την καθυστέρηση (αν έχεις τέτοια) από την Login-screen στην επιφάνεια εργασίας.
Αυτό που είδα σχετικά με τον ήχο , είναι πως πιθανών να υπάρχει κάποιο conflict μεταξύ των modules που φορτώνονται.
