Πρόβλημα με printer HP Laserjet 1012

Από τότε που έκανα αναβάθμιση σε Lucid Lynx ο printer HP Laserjet 1012 (συνδεδεμένος μεσω USB) δεν τυπώνει. Το μήνυμα σφάλματος που αναφέρει είναι "Printer may not be connected" ή "Device communication error (. Έχω κατεβάσει και εγκαταστήσει και το νέο HPLIP 3.10.5. Έχω διαγραψει και επανεγκαταστήσει τον εκτυπωτή. Ενώ το ubuntu τον βλέπει και τον αναγνωρίζει, όταν στέλνω σελίδα για εκτύπωση βγάζει το ίδιο μηνυμα σφάλματος. Στα vista τυπώνει μια χαρά, άρα δεν είναι προβλημα καλωδίου USB. Μπορεί κάποιος να βοηθήσει ;

Αν από το synaptic επανεκγαταστήσεις το πακέτο cups, κάνει τίποτα ;

Έχω διαγραψει [...] τον εκτυπωτή.

Ξανακάνε το. Διαγραψε τον εκτυπωτή από το System -> Administration -> Printing.

Για τα ακόλουθα βήματα, χρειάζεσαι διαδίκτυο:

- Εκτέλεσε στο τερματικό:

Η εγκατάσταση είναι συνήθως next next next. Αν σου ζητήσει να κατεβάσει plugin, αποδεξου το.

- Βάλε τα κατάλληλα προνόμια (privileges) στο System > Administration > Επέλεξε το χρήστη σου, μετά πιέζεις "Advanced settings" > "User privileges" > Επέλεξε τα όλα (έτσι κι αλλιώς είσαι ο χρήστης - adminstrator υποθέτω).

- Κάνεις log out και πάλι log in. Σβήσε και αναψε ξανά τον εκτυπωτή.

- Δοκίμασε να κάνεις print μέσω του gedit: Applications > Accessories > Text editor

γράψε κάτι και File > Print

Βάλε τα κατάλληλα προνόμια (privileges) στο System > Administration > Επέλεξε το χρήστη σου, μετά πιέζεις "Advanced settings" > "User privileges" > Επέλεξε τα όλα (έτσι κι αλλιώς είσαι ο χρήστης - adminstrator υποθέτω).

Τα έκανα όλα αυτα. Τον εκτυπωτή τον έχει δει οκ. Αλλά στο print status η εντολή εκτύπωσης έχει μείνει στο "processing" ... αιωνίως. Από τον κώδικα που εκανα post βγαίνει τίποτα;

Είναι όντως περίεργο πρόβλημα..

1. άναψε τον εκτυπωτή, εκτέλεσε αυτή την εντολή:

hp-info -i

Στείλε το αποτέλεσμα

2. ανοιξε τον κειμενογράφο, γράψε κάτι, μετά File > Print. Μην κάνεις print ακόμα, αλλά εδώ επέλεξε "Page setup" > Paper size = A4.
Και ξαναδοκίμασε.
